At MECCA Business Learning Institute (MBLI), we are excited to welcome students who are eager to learn, grow, and engage in our unique business and entrepreneurship-focused education. Our open enrollment policy allows all eligible students to apply, regardless of academic background, and we strive to make the application process as straightforward and accessible as possible for families.

Who Can Apply?

MBLI is a public charter middle school that at full enrollment will serve students in grades 6 through 8. Our open enrollment policy means that we welcome all students. Families interested in applying for enrollment should meet the following criteria:

  • Grade Eligibility: Students entering grades 6 or 7, in Fall 2025.

  • Residency: Students residing within Montgomery County.

We encourage families to apply early, as space is limited and a lottery system may be used if applications exceed available spots.

Application Process

The application process for MBLI is designed to be simple and accessible. Follow these steps to apply:

  1. Submit an Online Application
The application will ask for basic student information, parent/guardian contact details, and grade level. No admissions tests or prior academic performance are required to apply.

  2. Application Deadlines
Be sure to submit your application by the specified deadline. Applications received after the deadline may be placed on a waiting list if all available spots are filled.

  3. Lottery Process (If Necessary)
If the number of applications exceeds the number of available spaces, MBLI will use a random lottery system to ensure a fair and equitable enrollment process. The lottery will be conducted publicly, and families will be notified of their child’s admission status shortly after the lottery is held.

  4. Enrollment Confirmation
Once admitted, families will receive a notification and must confirm their child’s enrollment by contacting the school according to the instructions provided in the notification. The confirmation process will be simple. Detailed instructions on how to complete the process will be outlined in the notification to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.

  5. Completing the Admissions Process

After confirming enrollment, families will need to finalize the admissions process by submitting all necessary documents and completing any additional required steps, such as attending an orientation or submitting emergency contact information, by the specified deadline to secure their child’s spot at MBLI.

Enrollment for Siblings

We understand the importance of keeping siblings together in the same school. MBLI offers sibling preference in the lottery process. If a sibling is already enrolled at MBLI, priority will be given to their brothers or sisters during the enrollment process, space permitting.

Waitlist Information

If your child is not admitted during the initial lottery, they will be placed on a waiting list. As spaces become available, families on the waitlist will be contacted in the order their application was received. Waitlisted families are encouraged to complete the enrollment process promptly once a spot becomes available.
